In July of 2024, backed by our majority shareholders, Palladium Equity Partners, we announced an ambitious growth strategy to continue to serve the growing demands of both existing and new customers in the key markets we serve, particularly Food and Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, and Health and Beauty.
Within these areas, we’ve specialized in serving the needs of Hispanic brands as they expand further into the United States, serving not only the U.S. Hispanic population, but all demographics where we see an increasing demands for these goods.
After 25 years of experience, we knew that to support this growth it our strategy would need to deliver in both depth and reach of services and locations.
Chicago’s strategic importance
The gateway to the Midwest, Chicago, was an extremely important location for us to add to the Source Logistics network of warehousing locations to enable us to dramatically improve our reach for existing customers. In adding LaGrou’s facilities, we increase our total warehousing capacity to over 5M square feet, and do so in a way that now enables us to reach over 75% of the US population within 24 hours.
As costs continue to rise, we’re excited about the opportunities this expanded reach brings—allowing our customers to grow with us, while consolidating more of their warehousing under one roof.
Refrigerated and frozen storage, rail access, & retail consolidation
Adding LaGrou’s facilities to our network adds space and reach, and expands our service offerings to include refrigerated and frozen storage to our network. And it’s not just about the facilities. We also now have rail access and retail consolidation capabilities that will give our customers more options as their business grows.
The LaGrou team is skilled in areas that will augment our own and help us grow this capability at more of our locations over time, opening up opportunities not only at a personal level for our combined employees, but also for the LaGrou customers that join the Source family as part of this acquisition.
A customer-first focus and culture
As we’ve spent time with the LaGrou team what struck us was the common ethos we found there – so similar to our SourceDNA. It reflects a culture of respect and appreciation for others, whether customers, colleagues or suppliers, and always puts the customer’s needs first in every situation. As at Source, we found employees at LaGrou with decades of tenure with the firm and customer relationships that similarly developed and grew over many years together.
That only happens when culture underpins great service.
We were happy to have found not only infrastructure but also people who were a perfect fit to expand the Source Logistics family.
Our next steps and the future
Our focus now is the seamless integration of the legacy LaGrou warehouses, people, and customers into our operations. Looking forward, this is just one big step in the growth strategy we’re executing – a strategy to deliver on our mission to be the go-to logistics partner for helping multi-cultural brands reach U.S. consumers.
Why not join us on our journey?
